A gratitude journal is a wonderful way to capture all the things in life that evoke feelings of appreciation and thoughts of gratitude. Taking the time to regularly give thanks for the blessings of the day, whether big or small, can be a life altering experience that brings about increased joy and well-being, and helps with manifesting desires and goals.

How Gratitude Journals Leverage the Law of Attraction

According to Abraham-Hicks, the law of attraction states that a person's experience in life is directly attributed to the thoughts, feelings and beliefs a person holds. This means that thinking thoughts of gratitude, indulging in feelings of appreciation, and giving thanks for life’s blessings will lead to more things in life to appreciate and celebrate.

Choose a journaling style that feels good and encourages frequent expressions of appreciation.

What to Write in a Gratitude Journal

A gratitude journal can be used to capture anything and everything that evokes a feeling of gratitude or appreciation. Some ideas include:

  • Write a rampage of appreciation for a special person, experience or situation;
  • List favourite things, including things long since experienced or desires for new experiences.
  • Inspirational quotes, gratitude quotes, thanksgiving quotes – any and all sayings that inspire and uplift;
  • Compose self-love lists, detailing all the wonderful things to appreciate about oneself, and;
  • Write about appreciation for life’s challenges, with the understanding that there is a gift in every experience – even the more difficult experiences.

Have fun capturing the thoughts that bring feelings of gratitude, and experience how the law of attraction will bring more thoughts to match that essence of appreciation.

When to Practice Expressing Gratitude and Appreciation

Make writing in a gratitude journal a regular part of the day. Choose a consistent time each day to help form this practice into a habit, making it easier to keep up with regardless of external circumstances that might throw things off track.
