The Law of Attraction and How to Make it WorkThe Power of Positive ThinkingOct 11, 2009 Jo Barrett-Lennard
The Law of Attraction is not a new concept, nor is harnessing the power of the mind. Making it work for you is simple and straightforward once you know how.
Many people wonder if the Law of Attraction really works, and if it does, one may wonder how he can make it work for him. In Primary school and throughout childhood, many people recall urgings of “Just think positive,” or “Don’t be so negative.” The Law of Attraction holds that these modes of thinking are vital if one is to change his life for the better. An individual's beliefs, thoughts and actions are believed to work in conjunction to create reality. Creating Reality With the Law of AttractionCreating reality is not some woo-woo, voodoo or don’t do conception. Thoughts up until now have brought people to where they are, whether they like it or not. Whatever is focused on, is recieved. Focusing on lack of money will create more of the same. If one thinks he is unlovable and that he will never find a partner, then he will not. According to Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life (Hay House, 2007 edition) "the more you dwell on what you don't want, the more of it you will create".Consciously replacing the negative thoughts of lack, of not being good enough, of not being smart enough, strong enough or good-looking enough with an affirmation or positive thought will begin to create what is really wanted . Shifting Thinking PatternsSwitch the money thought to something along the lines of “my income is constantly increasing,” or “I always have more money flowing in than flowing out.” If one is seemingly always single and attracting partners that drag them down and make them feel low, then thoughts need to be shifted and behaviours replaced with those which are beneficial. Try “I am open and receptive to love from the partner that respects me,” or “I attract romance and love in unexpected and beautiful ways.” The simplicity of shifting our thought patterns and subsequently reaping the benefits is staggering. Blocks in ConsciousnessOccasionally one comes across blocks in consciousness about whatever it is that needs to change. One can get stuck with the belief that “this is the way it has always been, therefore there is no point changing it now”. Getting stuck in the past is a common block that people come across. "When we are very little, we learn how to feel about ourselves and about life by the reactions of the adults around us" says Louise Hay . Blocks in consciousness stems from fear of the unknown, and what one was brought up to believe. If one keep focusing on what he doesn't have, what one thinks they are lacking or what one doesn't have enough of, then he will continue to get just that. The Universal LawThe Law of Attraction is a universal rule that basically states that whatever is focused on is created. Which is where positive thinking comes in. People often convince themselves that something bad will happen, they “just know it.”. And then, something bad happens. One may create an affirmation that is relevant to them and where they are in their life. For example, if one is struggling with difficult relationships, then focusing on the positive and repeating an affirmation such as "all my relationships are harmonious" then their relationships will begin to transform. Some simple tips include
The Law of Attraction states that whatever one focuses on, they will recieve. Focusing on the positive and what one would like creates a space for good things to happen. Believing in what one wants, be it a great relationship, increasing incomes or success, a clear picture needs to be created, and then focused on.
